About us

The Local Engineer is a network of local engineers, manufacturing businesses and all things science, technology and engineering right around town that most people would not have otherwise noticed. The host of the show, Drew, had the idea of showcasing interesting engineering opportunities around his university to help his fellow STEM major friends find a meaningful place to intern and work for. The only way to really learn about a company before you do business with or go work for is to sit down and talk all about the company, workplace, field of work and the people in the business. It was this moment that the show began, by giving his closest engineering professors from his engineering degree at Kennesaw State University a platform for students to listen to before signing up for their courses.

"The professors do not have time to talk all about themselves, they barely have any time to teach very detail oriented material as it is, so how's a student supposed to get to know their professor for the next 15 weeks together?" This was the basis for the show, but then businesses began reaching out to be interviewed on the show. Now, this once a fun hobby has turned into a purpose: help engineers, manufacturers, and innovators find local opportunities easier and build meaningful relationships to push the limits of American manufacturing and engineering.
